In 1895, the Josiah A. Ames house at Breezy Bluffs (left) became a summer get-away spot
for needy boys and girls from Boston. Called the Lincoln House in recognition of its sponsor,
Boston’s Lincoln Club, The Building soon overflowed with young guests. In 1899,
a second building was added to the complex (left), which was located near the bridge to Oyster Harbors.
